She’s a Tiger Honoured as Champion 2YO Filly

Brilliant filly She’s a Tiger (3f Tale of the Cat x Shandra Smiles, by Cahill Road) was rewarded for a great season last year at the annual Eclipse Awards when named Champion 2YO Filly of 2013. The Jeff Bonde trained daughter of Tale of the Cat started six times for three wins and three seconds winning the Grade I Del Mar Debutante Stakes and finishing second in controversial circumstances in the Grade I Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies. “This filly has been a dream come true for my clients. I appreciate them and their involvement. Thanks to my great staff; it takes a lot of people to get a horse to this level. I’ve been waiting 59 years to be here and here I am,” said her trainer Jeff Bonde in his acceptance speech. A $150,000 Keeneland September purchase, She’s a Tiger is a three-quarter sister to triple Grade I winner Smiling Tiger and is one of four winners from stakes-winner Shandra Smiles.
