Souper Hoity Toity Rolls to G3 Ontario Colleen Victory
Uncle Mo’s Souper Hoity Toity (3f Uncle Mo x Town Tour, by Speightstown) scored a second straight grade stakes victory in the Grade III Ontario Colleen Stakes on Saturday.
The filly raced a few lengths off the pace in the one-mile turf race and had plenty to do when she rolled into the stretch. Jockey Patrick Husbands had faith she’d be able to do it though, waiting until the quarter pole to ask for her best.
It took Souper Hoity Toity time to get rolling but roll she did, reaching the leader just in time and getting her head in front at the line.
The winner of four of six starts, Souper Hoity Toity is trained by Mark Casse for Live Oak Plantation. She was a $550,000 OBS March purchase last year by her racing owner from Pike Racing.
Souper Hoity Toity is out of a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Moonshine Memories and stakes winner Indian Evening. This is also the family of Horse of the Year Favorite Trick and Uncle Mo’s four-time Grade I-winning studmate Tiz The Law.
Souper Hoity Toity is the second graded stakes winner for Uncle Mo in two days with the stallion having six graded stakes winners and 10 stakes winners in 2022 with 27 of his runners earning blacktype this year.
