Progressive mare Stars to Shine (4m Tale of the Cat x Gaily Lady, by Silver Hawk) turned in a career best performance to claim her first Black Type success in the $101,070 Belle Mahone Stakes at Woodbine. Not far away in previous runs in Graded company, Stars to Shine was favoured to win this 1 and 1/16th mile assignment and cruised home to win by three and three-quarter lengths. Raced by The Grange House Partnership and prepared by Mark Frostad, Stars to Shine has won four of eight starts and $195,876 in prizemoney. The 74th stakes-winner for Tale of the Cat, Stars to Shine is one of five winners, but the first stakes-winner for her dam Gaily Lady, a daughter of Grade I winner Gaily Gaily.
