Munnings

Stonestreet-Breds Lead Munnings Offerings in Book 3

Mike Ryan struck for a $375,000 Munnings colt during the fifth session of Keeneland September on Saturday when the colt was offered by Denali Stud as agent for Stonestreet Bred and Raised.

The colt is a first foal out of Good Fairy, an unraced half-sister to champion and rising superstar sire Good Magic out of the multiple stakes winning Glinda The Good.

This family is full of class from top to bottom with third dam Magical Flash producing Grade III winner Take The Ribbon, five other stakes winners, and three additional stakes performers. In all, there are 17 stakes performers named under the first three dams with 11 of them winning at least one stakes race.

Mainline and Avalon Racing were the buyers of a $275,000 filly out of Samantha Nicole with that filly also bred by Stonestreet and offered by Indian Creek.

Samantha Nicole was a two-time winner herself and has already produced a stakes winner from her four to race with Fairchild winning the Wasted Tears. Samantha Nicole is most famously known as the full sister to Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra with that mare going on to produce the Grade I winner Rachel’s Valentina. Their stakes winning dam lotta Kim was another successful dam outside of her champion with the mare also producing three other stakes performers, including Lookin at Lucky’s Grade III placed Dolphus.

Each of the three dams on this page have produced at least one stakes winner with many of their daughters also following that tradition. One of the leading sires on the track this year, Munnings has also been popular at Keeneland with a pair of $700,000 yearlings leading the charge. Through six sessions, his 51 sold are averaging $225,235 at Keeneland with the group selling for $700,000, $700,000, $525,000, $450,000, $450,000, etc.
