Three In a Row for Uncle Mo's Lil Miss Moppet
It was a third straight victory for Lil Miss Moppet (4f Uncle Mo x Winiliscious, by Lawyer Ron) on Wednesday at Monmouth Park.
Racing over six furlongs, she broke strongly and was quickly to the lead. Holding control at every call, it proved to be an easy victory for Lil Miss Moppet as she pulled away in the stretch to win by 4¾ lengths for Phoenix Thoroughbred and trainer Peter Miller.
The winner of three of her six starts, Lil Miss Moppet also has a second to her name for nearly $128,000 in earnings.
Bred by Joseoph A. Ioia, Lil Miss Moppet was a $200,000 Fasig-Tipton July purchase by Crupi’s New Castle Farm and sold for $400,000 at OBS March the following year to her racing owner.
The filly is the first foal out of stakes placed Winiliscious, who is also a half-sister to a stakes placed runner and to the dam of Grade III winner Gentle Ruler. Overall there are 19 stakes horses under Winiliscious’s first three dams.
That mare also has a winning 3-year-old by Lookin at Lucky and a winning 2-year-old by Munnings. She had a Lookin At Lucky filly last year.
The leading General Sire by graded stakes winners and graded stakes horses this year with 13 and 25 respectively, Uncle Mo continues to perform year after year with top class runners.
