Tio Magico (Uncle Mo) wins the Queenston Stakes at Woodbine

Tio Magico Newest Stakes Winner for Uncle Mo

Sam-Son Farm homebred Tio Magico (3g Uncle Mo x Magic Broomstick, by More Than Ready) became his sire’s newest stakes winner on Sunday with a win in the Queenston Stakes at Woodbine.

The gelding went straight to the lead under Luis Contrerars and had at least a length in hand at every call. As the field entered the final three furlongs, the gelding picked up the pace to make it a real challenge for his rivals.

He didn’t have it easy in the final furlong but the Gail Cox trainee had more than enough stamina left to win by 2 1/2 lengths in the end.

Already stakes placed before this run, Tio Magico is one of three runners out of Grade III winner Magic Broomstick. That mare is a half-sister to stakes placed Jet Set Broad and Daddyalwayssays with other runners under Tio Magico’s second dam including stakes winner and Grade II placed Pass The Plate.

Tio Magico is the second stakes winner in a week for Uncle Mo, who saw Yaupon win the Lite The Fuse Stakes on Independence Day.
