Two-Year-Old Double For Lookin At Lucky
It was a top day for Lookin At Lucky on Friday when the sire saw two promising 2-year-old fillies break their maidens in the space of an hour and a half.
The double started in the fourth race at Belmont Park when Stretchthestory (2f Lookin At Lucky x My Fancy, by Stephen Got Even) made a late run to pass her stablemate in the shadow of the wire and win by three-quarters of a length going six furlongs on turf. The victory came in her third career start for trainer Christophe Clement and owners Alan Quartucci and Harrell Ventures after a pair of third place finishes to start Stretchthestory’s career.
Bred by Mr. and Mrs. Andy Beadnell, Stretchthestory is the second winner from three runners for My Fancy. My Fancy is out of Grade 2 winner Radiant Ring and half-sister to six stakes horses.
An hour and a half later it was time for Lookin Dynamic (2f Lookin At Lucky x Dynamic Deputy, by Deputy Minister) to shine in her maiden at Laurel Park.
Sitting in mid-pack during the early stages of the race, Lookin Dynamic raced up the rail as the field turned for home to take command. The Michael Trombetta-trainee was kept on task in the final furlong by jokey Julian Pimentel and won by 1 ¾ lengths in her second start.
Bred and raced by Fitzhugh LLC, Looking Dynamic is a half-sister to five other winners, including Listed winners Dynamic Strike and Another Broad.
