Unbeaten Munnings Filly Goes Three for Three
Talented filly Please Flatter Me (2f Munnings x She’s Flattering, by Flatter) made it three wins in as many starts when taking out the $100,000 Gin Talking Stakes at Laurel on the weekend.
Racing here in new silks, the filly formerly raced for Smart Angle LLC and was purchased privately by Sol Kumin’s Madaket Stables LLC and Heider Family Stables LLC after her previous win in the $107,750 Blue Mountain Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Penn National.
She powered clear to win the seven furlong sprint by five and three-quarter lengths in a dominant display.
“The only thing I was concerned about was the racetrack. We took a lot of mud,” said trainer Mark Reid, who has retained the filly in spite of the ownership change.
“She normally doesn’t work or do anything in it, so there’s always that question, but I knew she has tremendous ability and just attacks everything so I wasn’t that worried. She won today going seven-eighths; I think we’re going to just keep stretching her and see what happens.”
Please Flatter Me has won nearly $150,000 from her three victories and is from minor winner She’s Flattering.
