Uncle Mo Kicks Off OBS with $675,000 Filly

Uncle Mo had the second most expensive filly of the opening OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds In Training when D.J. Stable and Gary Barber secured the juvenile for $675,000.

Offered by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds as agent, the filly is the third foal out of Grade III winner Customer Base. That mare is a half-sister to stakes winner Hyperlink and out of a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Arch Rebel and On My Dime.

Bred by Glen Hill Farm, her consignors purchased her as a yearling from her breeder for $250,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Uncle Mo also received a big result as a broodmare sire when a colt out of his Grade III placed daughter Conquest Babayaga sold for $700,000 as the third highest priced offering of the session.

On the track, Uncle Mo is the sire of seven stakes winners in 2023 – the second best of any North American stallion. Among those are Grade I winner A Mo Reay and Kentucky Derby hopeful Kingsbarns.
