Air Force Blue Walking In Hand

War Savvy Professional in Maiden Victory

War Savvy (3c Air Force Blue x Savviest, by El Corredor) became the 20th winner for his sire on Saturday with a wire-to-wire victory at the Fair Grounds.

Racing over a little over a mile on the dirt, the colt took command by the time they entered the first turn and was held well in hand by Brian Hernandez Jr. The colt looked comfortable as they raced around the track and was ready for battle when they entered the stretch.

Multiple horses made a run at War Savvy but he was never truly challenged and won by ¾ of a length in the end.

Trained by Dallas Steward for Commonwealth Stable 3 and On Our Own Stable, War Savvy now has two top three finishes in four career starts.

A Summer Hill Farm-bred, War Savvy is a half-brother to Uncle Mo’s stakes-placed Take Ten and one of four winners from four to race out of Savviest. Savviest is a half-sister to Grade I winner Tactical Cat and Grade II-placed Storm Passage and out of stakes winner Terre Haute.

The sire of four stakes horses, Air Force Blue’s 20 winners is better than other second crop sires such as Frosted, Laoban, and Tourist.
