Well-Bred Air Force Blue Filly Sells for $160,000
Late in the final session of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale on Tuesday, Air Force Blue’s filly out of Ethel Anna brought $160,000 from Steven Young.
Breezing in :10.2 last week, the filly consigned by L.G. as agent was bred by Reiko and Michael Baum.
A half-sister to four winners, the filly is a granddaughter of Grade II winner Glowing Honor. That mare is also the great-granddam of Chilean Horse of the Year Il Campione and a half-sister to Grade I Kentucky Derby winner Sea Hero and Grade I winner Hero’s Honor.
Bred on the same cross as stakes winner and Group II-placed Declarationofpeace and Group III-placed Turjomaan, the filly sold for over six times her sire’s 2017 stud fee.
Europe’s Champion 2-Year-Old Colt, Air Force Blue has had a strong start at stud this year with two winners and two placed runners from his first seven runners.
