Windy Walk Newest Stakes Winner for Munnings

It was a fourth straight victory and first stakes win for Munnings’ Windy Walk (3f Munnings x Misslaney, by Badge of Silver) on Boxing Day with a win in the Listed Rampart Stakes at Gulfstream Park.

Racing over a mile on the dirt, Windy Walk played a game of cat and mouse with the field when bursting out of the gate to set the pace. Racing under a firm hold, she was slightly pressured throughout much of the race, but the going didn’t get tough until the stretch.

Two other horses tried to cut into her lead at that point, but she was determined to get the victory and won by a neck.

This was the seventh victory in 12 starts this year for the Richard Perkins homebred, who is trained by Christopher Davis.

All three of the runners out of the multiple stakes placed Missalaney are winners with that mare one of two stakes performers out Sarahcarolu.

Munnings 14 2024 stakes winners ties with Curlin for sixth best among all North American stallions while his 31 stakes performers has him alone in fifth on the list.
