Opera Singer (Justify) Wins Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac at ParisLongchamp

2YO G1 Winner on Arc Day for Justify

Outstanding young sire Justify posted a third Group I winner on Arc day at Longchamp when progressive filly Opera Singer (2f Justify x Liscanna, by Sadler’s Wells) bolted away with the Group I Prix Marcel Boussac (1m).

Trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden Ryan Moore, Opera Singer was in a class of her own, leading all the way and turning the race into a procession to win by five lengths.

“Ryan said she was very straightforward,” said Aidan O'Brien.

“I thought she was very strong all the way to the line and it was an impressive performance. She's by Justify and they get better with age. As she steps up in trip she's something to look forward to next year.”

Opera Singer has won three of five starts making rapid progress when stepped up in trip to a mile and she may well get further in the future.

“She's obviously a filly that would have no problem starting off at a mile in a Classic and you would imagine she would have no problem going up to a mile and a quarter and a mile and a half. Ryan was raving about her there coming in–he said I look forward to this day next year!” O’Brien added.

Opera Singer runs for the Coolmore partners and is a half-sister to a pair of Group I winning fillies by War Front in Brave Anna (Newmaret Cheveley Park Stakes) and Hit it a Bomb (Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf).

She is the eighth winner from nine foals to race from Group III winning Sadler’s Wells mare Liscanna.

The sire of 18 stakes-winners worldwide from his first two crops, Justify stands this spring in Australia at a fee of $77,000.
