$460,000 for Justify Colt

The second crop of Australian bred yearlings by Justify are on show this week at the Gold Coast with a striking bay colt from Pelican selling for $460,000 on Wednesday at Magic Millions.

Bred by Morning Rise Stud, the colt was purchased by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing/Kestrel Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of his dam Pelican.

A metro winner by Fastnet Rock, Pelican is a half-sister to Group III placed Divan from two time NZ Horse of the Year and seven time Group I winner Seachange.

Pelican has a colt to follow by Pierro and was covered last spring by European Horse of the Year St Mark’s Basilica in his first season at stud in Australia.
