$900,0000 and $950,000 Sales for Justify
The first Australian yearlings by undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify have sold strongly at sales this year, but the cream of his crop are at Inglis Easter with two stunning youngsters selling for $950,000 and $900,000 on Tuesday.
The powerful buying partnership TFI / Kia-Ora Stud / Dermot Farrington bid $950,000 to secure the second foal of brilliant Group II winning Fastnet Rock mare Formality, who was also twice placed in Group I races.
A strongly built bay colt he is a great mix of his sire and dam, who has another weanling colt to follow by Justify.
Earlier in the day Kia Ora Stud paid $900,000 for the Coolmore consigned Justify filly from Group III winner Ennis Hill, a full sister to Group I placed stakes-winner Lake Geneva and stakes-winner Acrobat, who will stand his first season at Coolmore this spring.
Kia Ora Stud have bought several fillies at this sale so far with a view to boosting their broodmare band for the future as they move to support their young stallions Farnan and Prague.
“She’s out of an outstanding family with stakes-winner after stakes-winner on the page,” said Shane Wright of Kia Ora Stud.
“Every year it keeps expanding and now it has a stallion with Acrobat going to stud, so we’re very happy to be entering into it.”
Justify had eight yearlings sell on Day One of the sale at an average $415,000 and provided the highest priced colt and filly by a first season sire.
