American Pharoah Daughter Romps in Santa Anita MSW

Window Shopping (3f American Pharoah x Delightful Joy, by Tapit) proved to be the real deal on Friday with a 16 ½ length Maiden Special Weight victory at Santa Anita.

Stalking the pace early on in the one mile dirt race, Flavien Prat had her move up to challenge the leader four furlongs in and she happily engaged. Dueling into the turn, by the time they hit the midway point on the turn the American Pharoah filly was pulling away and just extended her lead from there.

There was no catching Window Shopping in the end with the chestnut breaking her maiden in her second start for Ramona and Perry Bass.

Trained by Richard Mandella, Window Shopping was a $700,000 Keeneland September yearling in 2021 from the Gainesway consignment.

She was bred by International Equities Holding as the third foal out of Grade III winner Delightful Joy. That mare is a half-sister to Grade III winner Cali Star and stakes winner Seymourdini with the trio out of Grade III winner and Grade I placed Graeme Six.

Window Shopping is bred on the same American Pharoah x Tapit daughter cross as Grade I winner Harvey’s Lil Goil, stakes winner Refreame, and stakes placed Saqqara King.
