More Magic Sales for Justify
The first Australian yearlings by Triple Crown hero Justify continued to impress at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Wednesday with his top seller for the session a stunning colt from Lake Geneva that fetched $600,000.
Consigned by Coolmore, the powerful dark brown colt was bought by renowned bloodstock agent Michael Wallace, who was instrumental in the purchase of his sire Justify as a yearling for an ownership group headed by China Horse Club.
If anyone should have an inside track to identifying a good Justify it should be Wallace and he Tweeted after the sale - I need a new car, so a Ferrari will do. The best of the Justify’s is what I was after and this colt from Lake Geneva is just that.
The star colt is the third foal of Lake Geneva, a stakes-winning daughter of champion sire Fastnet Rock that was also placed in both the Group I Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond.
Lake Geneva is a full sister to Group III winner Ennis Hill and stakes-winner Acrobat, who were also successful as juveniles.
Other good sales on Wednesday for Justify were fillies from Movie Role and Now Now that both sold for $400,000.
Magic Bloodstock and Associates bought the Coolmore consigned filly from stakes-placed Fastnet Rock mare Movie Role, a full sister to Group I winner Irish Lights, while Ciaron Maher Bloodstock bought the Silverdale Farm consigned half-sister to Group II winner Fiesta from Now Now.
