12-length winner for Mahler
Chepstow’s Saturday card finished with a bumper that featured what looked a star of the future in Ballywilliam (5g Mahler-Henrietta Howard, by King´s Ride), who scored by 12 lengths. The former Irish point-to-pointer was making his Rules debut for trainer David Pipe with this front-running performance. The son of Mahler is now likely to go jumping. “He is an out-and-out galloper and we thought he’d be suited by soft ground on this course. He’ll probably now switch to hurdling,” Pipe told the Racing Post. Mahler is standing at The Beeches Stud for €5,000 in 2015
