£125,000 for Yeats bumper winner

Six-length bumper winner Mere Anarchy (4g Yeats-Maracana, by Glacial Storm) was in hot demand at the Doncaster Spring Sale on Tuesday when selling for £125,000.

Alex Elliott bought the Yeats four-year-old, who was saddled by Kim Bailey to win on his debut at Ludlow last month. Bred by J Hanly and C Neilan, he is set to join Robert Stephens.

Elliott told EBN: “I’ve bought him for Robert – we’re building the arsenal! I loved him at Brightwells when he breezed, but I couldn’t quite get the backers together to buy him. I have followed him since and he was very impressive when winning at Ludlow. I’m delighted to get him today.”
