19-length G1 success for Flemensfirth Star

Peter Casey had long billed Flemenstar (7g Flemensfirth-Different Dee, by Beau Sher) the best horse he had trained and the seven-year-old showed off that potential with a brilliant success in the G1 Arkle Novice Chase at Leopardstown on Sunday. The Flemensfirth gelding eventually took the 2m 1f contest by 19 lengths under Andrew Lynch, to the delight of Casey. “Íve always thought the world of him, and that was brilliant. He loved the ground and wéll train him for the G1 Powers Gold Cup,” Casey told www.racingpost.com. Flemenstar, who was bred by Donal Barnwell, also won his previous two novice chase starts in effortless fashion.
