£200,000 Flemensfirth point-to-point winner tops Cheltenham sale
Five-year-old Hawkhurst (5g Flemensfirth-Silaoce, by Nikos) proved the star lot at Brightwells’ post-racing sale at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday evening when selling for £200,000.
A full-brother to the G1-winning hurdler and high-class chaser Muirhead, Hawkhurst was bred by Catherine Ryan and scored by 12 lengths at Boulta in December on his only outing for trainer Denis Leahy.
The son of Flemensfirth looks likely to race in the colours of J P McManus, after being signed for by the owner’s son Kieran at the Cheltenham sale.
