22-length winner for Westerner
Paul Nicholls saddled Overland Flyer (6g Westerner-Love Train, by Sadler’s Wells) to a hugely-impressive debut under Rules on Wednesday.
A winner of two competitive point-to-points at Larkhill in England, the son of Westerner landed the Taunton maiden hurdle by no less than 22 lengths under Sam Twiston-Davies.
The winning rider commented: “I looked at the form and thought Overland Flyer had a strong chance and then I had a look behind two out and couldn't quite believe how far clear I was, so he must be a fair animal. We could try to win another another little race before going up in class.”
Overland Flyer was bred by Lindsey Suenson-Taylor.
