£310,000 Milan 4yo shatters Cheltenham sale record
Recent runaway Carlisle bumper winner Fascino Rustico (4g Milan-Rustic Charm, by Charnwood Forest) set a Cheltenham sale record on Wednesday night when selling for £310,000.
John Hales, owner of Saturday’s Grand National winner Neptune Collonges and many other top performers, bought for the four-year-old through Aiden Murphy. Paul Nicholls will train the Milan gelding.
Fascino Rustico, who was bred by Mrs P M Grainger, landed a bumper return for his trainer Ronnie O’Leary having been bought for just 23,000 euros at last year’s Goffs Land Rover Sale.
Milan continues to make a huge impression on the sale ring and on the racecourse and he was also responsible for the four-year-old Atriptomilan (4g Milan-Lady Of Sonas, by Lancastrian) who won a point-to-point at Inch for trainer Donnchadh Doyle on April 4 and sold to Aiden Murphy for £190,000.
