4YO Son Of Yeats Wins On Debut For Alan King
Heart Of A Lion (4g Yeats– Lady Secret, by Lord Of Men) made his racecourse debut a winning one, when taking the bumper by 7 lengths at Southwell on Tuesday.
Trained by Alan King for J P McManus and sent off 11/8 favourite, he was positioned in mid-field by Tom Cannon before making headway two furlongs out. Ridden from the two-furlong marker, he ran on well to draw clear inside the final furlong.
Heart Of A Lion was bred by Cleaboy Stud out of a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Mansony and was sold by Mount Eaton Stud at the 2018 Goffs UK Spring sale.
