Another Debut Four-Year-Old Winner By Walk In The Park

Shuffle The Deck (4g Walk In The Park – A Country Girl, by Flemensfirth) justified strong support to make a winning debut in Sunday’s four-year-old maiden at Borris.

Handler and rider Derek O’Connor settled the JP McManus-owned newcomer towards the back of the 11-runner field and began to make headway from four out. Taking second at the penultimate fence, he led soon after and kept on well on the run-in to win by a length and a quarter.

Shuffle The Deck becomes a fourth four-year-old maiden winner so far this season for the combination of Derek O’Connor, JP McManus and breeder Mrs Noreen McManus. The son of Walk In The Park is a full-brother to black-type hurdler Verdant Place (Walk In The Park).
