Another Point-to-Point Incentive Winner
Noel O’Brien is the latest breeder in line for a €1,000 credit which can be offset against a nomination to any Coolmore N.H. stallion this breeding season having bred the 5YO Geldings Maiden winner Timesareachanging (Mahler) at Killeagh yesterday.
Trained by Colin Bowe, the chesnut hails from the family of the Jim Dreaper stalwart Merry Gale, Minella Cocooner, Racing Demon, Journey With Me, Kilbarry Chloe etc. One of the first horses O’Brien ever bought was Merry Lesa, who went on to produce Merry Gale, and he has maintained the family ever since. Timesareachanging’s year older half-brother Major Fortune (Soldier of Fortune) has won his last two starts over hurdles for Dan Skelton.
Another of the more recent winners bred by O’Brien at Clashganiff House, the farm at Churchtown where his legendary uncle Vincent was born and raised, was Jungle Boogie who won the Grade 3 Savills New Year's Day Chase at Tramore for Henry de Bromhead and owner Malcolm Denmark.
Under this new incentive, further credits will be due to any breeder of an open 4YO or 5YO only Irish Point-to-Point Maiden during the 2024 spring season sired by a Coolmore N.H. stallion past or present.
