Black Type Aims For Daughter Of Yeats

Connections are eyeing black-type assignments for Swincombe Fleat (5m Yeats - Swincombe Flame, by Exit To Nowhere), after the useful mare gained a stylish win over hurdles at Exeter on Thursday.

A bumper winner and fourth at Listed level last season, the Anthony Honeyball-trained bay finished a promising third on her hurdle debut last month and was sent off favourite as she dropped back in trip on Thursday. Ridden to make all by Aidan Coleman, she was asked to quicken approaching the final flight and kept on well to score by five and a half lengths.

Speaking after the race, Honeyball said, “Swincombe Fleat is doing well, I thought her jumping was really good today. We've no plans at the minute, we may go under a penalty next and might look at the Listed mares' novice hurdle at Doncaster in March.”

Owned and bred MC and Mrs Yeo, Swincombe Fleat is a full-sister to Grade 2 winning hurdler Master Debonair (Yeats).
