Brave Son Of Ocovango Remains Unbeaten
Pricey purchase Glenglass (5g Ocovango - Funny Times, by Silver Patriarch) prevailed in a thrilling finish to Tuesday’s point-to-point bumper at Fairyhouse.
The son of Ocovango was well-supported in the market on his first start for Gordon Elliott and Bective Stud, having been sold for £155,000 following his debut win for Colin Bowe. Making all the running under Jamie Codd, he was asked to quicken from two furlongs out and was ridden approaching the final furlong. Digging deep close home, he kept on well to deny impressive four-year-old winner O’Moore Park (Walk In The Park) by a neck on the line. The pair drew 10 lengths clear of the field.
A half-brother to two black-type performers by Flemensfirth, Glenglass was bred by Robert McCarthy.
