The Soldier Of Fortune gelding joined the Dan Skelton stable following his maiden point-to-point win for Francesca Poste, and carried the colours of Craig and Laura Buckingham for the first time on Wednesday. Partnered by Harry Skelton, he raced in midfield for much of the way and caught the eye when travelling strongly behind the leaders three furlongs from home. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to win by two and a quarter lengths from €170,000 purchase Off The Jury.
