Camelot Filly Gets Off The Mark At Leopardstown
Sunday saw Finsceal Luas (3f Camelot – Finsceal Beo, by Mr Greeley) gain a deserved win in the nine furlong maiden at Leopardstown.
Runner-up on her last two starts, the Jim Bolger-trained filly was sent off favourite under Declan McDonogh and raced in second for much of the way. Shaken up to lead inside the final furlong, she was pushed out to win by a length and a quarter.
“She deserved that,” travelling head lad Ger Flynn said after the race. “Declan said she did it well within herself and went away easy at the line. I think that could be it for the year and that they'll bring her back next year as a four-year-old.”
Micheal Ryan’s homebred filly is closely related to Group 2 winner Ol’ Man River (Montjeu).
