Classy Getaway Gelding Returns To Winners Enclosure
Black-type performer Insurrection (7g Getaway – Rock In The Park, by Rock Hopper) proved a cut above his rivals in Sunday’s novices’ hurdle at Hereford.
The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding won his hurdle bow impressively before finishing second in a Grade 2 and was sent off favourite to return to winning ways on Sunday. Making all under Harry Cobden, the bay was ridden when challenged after the second last and ran on well on the run-in to win by three lengths and three quarters.
Insurrection began his career with William Harvey, for whom he won a five-year-old maiden at Tattersalls by 20 lengths. Bred by Tommy Newton, the Getaway gelding is now owned by the Noel Fehily Racing Syndicate.
