Classy Son Of Milan Returns With A Win
Talented hurdler Dancing On My Own (7g Milan - Morning Supreme, by Supreme Leader) made a successful return from a lay-off to justify favouritism in Sunday’s Beginners’ Chase at Killarney.
An impressive winner of a maiden hurdle and fourth at Grade 1 level as a novice, the Henry De Bromhead-trained was ridden by Darragh O’Keeffe for the first time on his chase debut. Leading from start to finish, he was ridden approaching the final fence and dug deep to win by two and a quarter lengths, with the first pair drawing clear of the field.
“Dancing On My Own was a classy novice hurdler and it’s nice to get him started,” O’Keeffe commented after the race. “He has lots of scope and was clever when he had to be. He got going very easily after the last and hopefully he can progress from here.”
Owned by Sean and Bernardine Mulryan, the son of Milan was bred by Marie-Claire Murphy.
