Conflated (Yeats) Wins The Grade 3 Directors Plate Novice Chase At Naas

Classy Son Of Yeats Strides Clear In Grade 3 Chase

Sunday saw the talented Conflated (7g Yeats - Saucy Present, by Presenting) gain a deserved black-type success in the Grade 3 Directors Plate Novice Chase at Naas.

An impressive winner of a Beginners Chase in December, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned bay was last seen finishing third in a Grade 1 at the Dublin Racing Festival. He was sent off favourite as he dropped back to two and a half miles and made most of the running under Jack Kennedy. Extending his advantage from the second last, he soon went clear and stayed on well to win by 21 lengths.

Speaking after the race, winning trainer Denise Foster said, “It was the perfect race for him and on ratings he was entitled to win. He’ll probably head to Fairyhouse and Punchestown. He did it well and was happy bowling along in front.”

The son of Yeats previously won a bumper and over hurdles, while he was also twice fourth at Grade 1 level over hurdles. He becomes the first Graded winner bred by the Dillon Family out of Saucy Present, her son Ordinary World (Milan) having been placed at Grade 1 level on multiple occasions.
