Daughter Of Yeats Captures Black Type Prize
The Gordon Elliott-trained Shattered Love (8m Yeats - Tracker, by Bustino) sauntered to a straightforward success in Thursday’s Listed Mares Chase at Thurles.
Mark Walsh partnered the bay in the two and a half mile chase, the same distance of her Grade 1 win at Cheltenham, while she has also triumphed at the highest level over three miles. Patiently tracking the leaders, she led from the third last and began to extend her advantage in the straight, crossing the line 34 lengths clear of her nearest rival.
The winning jockey later commented, “She felt great today, travelled and jumped everywhere. They'll have plenty fun with her for the season ahead.”
Thursday marked an 11th career victory for Shattered Love, her first having come between the flags. Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, the daughter of Yeats was bred by Limetree Stud and is a half-sister to fellow talented chasers Irish Cavalier and Make A Track.
