Jubatus (4f Yeats - Masriyna’s Article, by Definite Article) made sure her trip to England was worthwhile on Wednesday, as she justified favoritism in the “Newcomers” bumper at Southwell.

Ridden by champion jockey Richard Johnson, the Peter Fahey-trained mare raced close to the pace and made her move two furlongs from home. Driven to lead a furlong out, she ran on to score by a length and a quarter.

Owned and bred by Vincent Byrne, Jubatus is a half-sister to Peregrine Run, a prolific winner for connections, including four times at black-type level.
