Daughter Of Yeats Impresses On First Start For Mullins

Finest Evermore (4f Yeats - St Helans Bay, by Heron Island) produced a smart performance to run out an easy winner of the Fermoy Fillies Bumper at Cork on Friday.

A close second in an Exeter bumper on debut last October, the daughter of Yeats was sent off favourite on her first start for the Willie Mullins stable on Friday. Patrick Mullins rode the bay to chase the leaders, improving into second five furlongs from home and led when travelling well approaching the three furlong marker. Soon clear, she required no encouragement to cross the line five and a half lengths clear of the field.

Speaking after the race, Patrick Mullins said, “She is a typical Yeats in that she’s a really strong galloper; she is not flashy at home but always finishes out her work well. The strong pace today suited her.”

Now owned by the Leinster Partnership, Finest Evermore was bred by Paddy McCormack and Seamus Larkin. The daughter of Yeats becomes the first winner out of the dam and comes from the family of Altior.
