Daughter Of Yeats Makes A Perfect Start
Miss Goldfire (4f Yeats - Miss McGoldrick, by Kasakov) justified strong market support to make a winning debut in the mares’ bumper at Wetherby on Friday.
Harry Fry’s newcomer was sent off favourite in a field of 13 and was ridden prominently by Jonathan Burke. Pushed along approaching the two furlong pole, she was ridden a furlong later and ran on well to lead, staying on to score by half a length.
The daughter of Yeats continues a fine period for her dam, with half-brother Tightenourbelts (Mahler) having recently won a maiden hurdle impressively. The pair were bred by John Connolly out of Miss McGoldrick, who has a yearling by Soldier Of Fortune and a two-year-old by Mahler.
