Daughter Of Yeats Realises Promise Over Fences
Icee M B A (6m Yeats - Elhathrah, by Nayef) produced a perfect round of jumping to land the Mares Beginners Chase at Roscommon on Tuesday.
A close third on her chase debut last month, the Michael Hourigan-trained bay raced towards the back of the field for much of the two mile and five furlong contest. Making headway to challenge approaching the penultimate fence, she was ridden to lead and kept on strongly on the run-in to win by a length and a half under Brian Hayes. That’s Lifebuoy (Fame And Glory) drew clear of the field to claim second.
“Her jumping is very good,” Hourigan later commented. “She's brilliant, and she has a great head on her.”
Owned by Mrs Michael Hourigan, Icee M B A was bred by G Kenny and Michael Nolan.
