€220,000 Yeats 3yo tops Derby Sale
The domination of Yeats’ first-crop continued at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale on Thursday when a son of the 7-time G1 winner headed trading at €220,000.
The sale-topper, who followed sons of Yeats who realised €160,000 and €140,000 on Wednesday, was a three-year-old bred by the Hore family at Mount Eaton Stud out of the smart French performer Jolivia.
Many buyers’ attention had been caught by the striking gelding but it was MV Magnier who had the final say after seeing off Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins.
“He’s a lovely horse and comes from a very good farm in Mount Eaton. His half-brother Sizing Tennessee has looked promising to date and hopefully he’s a horse with a future. Like the two Yeats geldings from Wednesday, he’s been bought for my mother and Diane Nagle,” said Magnier.
