Exciting Son Of Mahler Delivers On Rules Debut
Pricey point-to-point recruit Bill Joyce (5g Mahler – Bettys Delight, by Flemensfirth) made a perfect start for new connections in Saturday’s bumper at Warwick.
The son of Mahler was bought by Jonjo O’Neill and Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for £225,000 following his smart debut win at Lisronagh for Benny Walsh. Carrying the colours of Dan Walker on rules debut, he was sent off favourite under Jonjo O’Neill Junior and led for much of the two mile contest. He showed signs of inexperience when ridden approaching the final furlong, before keeping on well to win by four and a quarter lengths.
The son of Beeches Stud sire Mahler was bred by Mrs Mary Hayes.
