Exciting Son Of Walk In The Park Tops Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale
Gordon Elliott enjoyed a dream result at the relocated Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale, with his impressive point-to-point winner Ginto (4g Walk In The Park- Tina Rederie, by Cadoudal) returning to his trainer after topping the sale at €470,000.
Bective Stud’s Noel and Valerie Moran provided the winning bid for the bay, who won his debut in a four-year-old maiden by all of 12 lengths under Jamie Codd last month. Explaining the final result, bloodstock agent Aidan O’Ryan said, “He showed himself to be a very high-class horse when he won his point-to-point. We were very anxious to keep him in the yard and thankfully Noel Moran bought him to stay with us.”
A big future lies ahead of the sales topper, he added, “Hopefully he'll be very lucky for his new owner now as he could go right to the very top. He's a horse for the future so he won't get much racing this year but might run in a bumper or maiden hurdle before being given a break.”
Friday saw Ginto provide a fine return on his store price of €60,000 bid by Mags O’Toole at the Goffs Landrover Sale. Bred by S Berger, he hails from the final French crop of Walk In The Park, who now stands at Grange Stud.
Gordon Elliott’s success with fellow four-year-old winner Percy Warner (4g Ocovango - Fugal Maid, by Winged Love), who was knocked down to Basil Holian for €100,000. Bred by Robert McCarthy, he hails from the first crop of Beeches Stud sire Ocovango.
