Exciting Walk In The Park Geldings Fetch €330,000 Apiece
Gordon Elliott showed his high regard for Sa Fureur (7g Walk In The Park – Ma Furie, by Balleroy) when spending €330,000 to retain the young chaser for new connections at Monday’s Andy and Gemma Brown Dispersal Sale at Tattersalls Ireland.
The son of Walk In The Park completed a hat-trick for Elliott and the Brown’s Caldwell Construction last season, culminating in a Grade 3 win. The bay won a Beginners Chase by all of 40 lengths in December and was last seen finishing second to dual Grade 1 winner Quilixios (Maxios) in a Novice Chase at Navan.
Firm Footings (6g Walk In The Park – Tempest Belle, by Glacial Storm) will also return to Elliott’s Cullentra base after Ian Ferguson bought the six-year-old on behalf of an existing client for €330,000.
Promising novice hurdler No Time To Wait (6g Walk In The Park – Stephanie Frances, by King’s Theatre) will transfer to John McConnell after owner Derek Kieran bought the bay for €125,000.
On his new recruit, McConnell said, “He was right up there with the best of Gordon's in bumpers last year; it hasn't gone according to plan over hurdles with him but he looks like he will make a really nice chaser.”
