First foal arrives for Order Of St George
Galileo’s multiple Group 1 winning son Order Of St George sired his first foal when Cara’s Way produced a filly last night at Willow Wood Stud.
Cara’s Way is closely related to Grade 1 winner Somersby and a half-sister to blacktype hurdlers Movewiththetimes and Venture Capital. “She is only a few hours old but looks a lovely tall athletic filly just like her sire” commented breeder Will Kinsey of Peel Bloodstock. “We’re very happy to have such a nice first foal.”
Trained by Aidan O’Brien, Order Of St George was a champion at three, four and five years winning a total of 11 races including the Irish St Leger as a three-year-old by a margin of 11 lengths. His victory in the Gr.1 Ascot Gold Cup was recorded in a time over 11 seconds faster than Fame and Glory.
With outstanding good looks to match his ability, Order Of St George proved extremely popular with breeders last spring covering a top-class book of mares. Among the accomplished mares in his book were Asian Maze, a four-time Grade 1 winner and dam of Cup Final; Pomme Tiepy, a Grade 2-winning chaser and dam of Grade 1-placed Mortal; Fashionista, the dam of Cheltenham Gold Cup victor Bobs Worth; Augest Weekend, the dam of Total Recall and Norabelle, dam of Invitation Only.
