Jonbon (Walk In The Park) Wins The 4YO Maiden At Dromahane

Full Brother To Mighty Douvan Draws Clear On Debut

Jonbon (4g Walk In The Park - Star Face, by Saint Des Saints) is set to light up the sales ring after living up to his lofty reputation on debut at Dromahane.

The full-brother to top-class chaser Douvan was bought by Paul Holden and Michael Shefflin last year for €140,000 and was sent into training with Ellmarie Holden. The bay was one of nine to line up for Sunday’s Four-Year-Old Maiden and was partnered by Derek O’Connor to chase the leaders, asserting from three out. He was travelling well with a six length advantage approaching the final fence and went clear on the flat to win by 15 lengths.

The impressive nature of Jonbon’s maiden victory, along with his sibling’s eight Grade 1’s, is expected to see him in demand at Thursday’s Goffs UK November Sale at Yorton Farm. It comes just a week after Ginto (Walk In The Park) topped the Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale at £470,000.
