Brewin Upastorm (Milan) Impresses On His Hurdle Debut At Huntingdon

Future Looks Bright For Brewin’Upastorm

Brewin’Upastorm (5g Milan - Daraheen Diamond, by Husyan) created a fine impression on his hurdle debut, as he ran out a clear-cut winner of the Novice Hurdle at Huntingdon on Sunday.

The Olly Murphy-trained favourite tracked the leaders for much of the two mile contest and though impeded at the third last, showed an excellent attitude to race through rivals to attain the lead before the next hurdle. Running home strongly after the final flight under Richard Johnson, he breat Brecon Hill, an impressive winner last time out, by four lengths.

Bred by Longrove Stud, Brewin’Upastorm is a half-brother to two black-type horses and an eight length point-to-point winner at Quakerstown for Tim Hyde. He was then bought for current owner Barbara Hester for £250,000 at the Cheltenham April Sale and won his first start for her impressively in a bumper in January.
