Game Westerner Mare Gains Maiden Win

Saddle Her Up (6m Westerner - Daveoin, by Presenting) built on previous promise to get off the mark in the mares’ maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

The Barry Fitzgerald-trained mare finished second to black-type performer Miss Agusta on her hurdles bow and was partnered by Sean Cleary-Farrell once again at the weekend. Chasing the leader for much of two mile and two furlong contest, she disputed from three out and was leapt into the lead at the final flight. Keeping on well on the run-in, she won by a length and a quarter, with the front pair finishing 16 lengths clear of the remainder.

The daughter of Westerner is owned by breeder Clodagh Fitzgerald.
