Gold Well mare makes £210,000 at Cheltenham
Legacy Gold (5m Gold Well-Durgams Delight, by Durgam) has done nothing wrong in three bumper starts when racing for breeder Chris Johnson and the Gold Well mare was predictably in demand at Brightwells’ Cheltenham Sale on Wednesday night.
Trainer Stuart Crawford most recently saddled the brilliantly tough Legacy Gold to win the Listed mares’ bumper at Aintree’s Grand National meeting and she was bought at Cheltenham for £210,000 by owner Roger Brookhouse.
“This is a very nice mare, but she’s done enough for now after three bumper victories, so we’ll take her home, give her a break and decide on a trainer over the summer. Now I hope she can keep up her winning run over hurdles,” Brookhouse told EBN.
