Grade 3 Aintree Win For Walk In The Park
Grand National dreams are now very much alive after Walk In The Mill (8g Walk In The Park - Libre Amour, by Lost World) bounced back to his best to win the Grade 3 Becher Handicap Chase at Aintree on Saturday.
Taking over from longtime leader Call It Magic at the final fence, the Robert Walford- trained chaser extended his advantage on the run to the line, registering a winning margin of four and a half lengths. Winning in the colours of Baroness Harding, he had finished third last time out at Cheltenham, after a 300 day absence.
The Aintree Grand National is now the aim, as his trainer confirmed, “Walk In The Mill jumped great and James (Best) gave him a great ride. We know the plan and there's only one way to go. He'll get a run in the National now and we probably won't see him a huge amount before then.”
The son of Grange Stud resident Walk In The Park was bred by Alain Jollivet and Madame Celine Lefevre, and was previously a winner in France before being bought by his British connections.
