Grand National Aim For Walk In The Mill
Saturday saw Walk In The Mill (9g Walk In The Park - Libre Amour, by Lost World) land back-to-back runnings of the Grade 3 Becher Handicap Chase at Aintree.
Racing prominently four from home, the bay was driven to lead from the second last and stayed on well under pressure to win by two and a half lengths. Kimberlite Candy (Flemensfirth) claimed runners-up honours and finished eight lengths clear of the third horse.
After last season’s win, Walk In The Mill went on to finish fourth in the Grand National and the same plan now applies, according to trainer Robert Walford. Owned by the Baroness Harding, the son of Grange Stud sire Walk In The Park was bred by Alain Jollivet and Madame Celine Lefevre.
