Harrington Promises More To Come From Son Of Milan
Point-to-point winner Mr Hendricks (6g Milan - Coming Home, by Exit To Nowhere) added another string to his bow when gaining his first win over hurdles at Navan.
A 15 length winner of his point-to-point for Kate Harrington in March of last year, he made his third start for Jessica Harrington in Saturday’s maiden hurdle over two and a half miles. The bay was given a prominent ride by Paddy Kennedy and showed a good attitude when regaining the advantage after four out. Pushed along, he came under pressure from two out and continued to dig deep, holding off Village Mystic by a length and a half on the line.
Speaking after the race, Jessica Harrington said, “Mr Hendricks is a very big horse and I've given him all the time we could get. He's a super jumper and he'll be better over three miles. He's only a baby. He was bought as a three mile chaser.”
Owned by David Reid Scott, the son of Milan was bred by Pat Kinsella and is closely related to two black-type performers by Oscar.
